With the lack of rain this year, many Knoxville residents haven’t had to pull out the lawn mower that often. But Knoxville Community Services Officer Arlene Worrall says that one thing has been growing in many yards – weeds. As typical with weeds, they’ve grown despite the drought and at expense of the grass. Worrall says that some people have forgotten about mowing them, especially in the right-of-way between the sidewalk and the street. She reminds residents that all yard vegetation, including weeds, can be no longer than eight inches long. People with weeds should either pull them out or pull the lawn more out.
