At around 2pm on Wednesday, the Pella Fire Department responded to a fire call at 1018 218th Street, south of the soccer fields and near the intersection with Illinois Drive. A storage structure on a rural property caught fire. The fire department was able to extinguish the flames, but the structure was completely destroyed. The home on the rural property was not affected. The fire also lit the top of a tree on fire about 15 yards away. The Pella Ambulance, Marion County Sheriffs Office, and Marion County Emergency Management also responded to the scene.
