What could be one of the youngest Knoxville Girls Basketball squads are currently working out and preparing for the 2012/2013 season. Right now of the 13 players on the varsity roster, five players are freshmen, three are sophomores, there are four juniors, and just two seniors. Coach Jim Utiermarkt says while young and inexperienced at the varsity level, they are athletic. This past summer, several of the girls got time in softball like freshmen Cassie Chambers…and Emily Wallace. Also, two of the other freshmen, Ashley Hawkshead and Rikki Hall were in the normal varsity rotation for volleyball. Knoxville starts its season November 27th against Albia.
