The Pella Christian Eagles girls basketball team had to part with a good chunk of their nucleus after making it to the state championship game in Class 2A this past March. Head coach, Kevin Van Maanen, tells KNIA/KRLS Sports, that you can expect a lot of the same as far as philosophies and style are concerned for his Eagles team, but the one thing that will change, and for the better, is the size of his squad. Van Maanen also mentioned that he will be looking at his girls to step up late in games if they are close one way or another, because in all four of their losses last year, his Eagles team either lost a late lead, or couldn’t quite come back to take the win. The Eagles will start their much anticipated 2012-13 season this Tuesday at Albia with tip-off at 7:30 p.m.
