The City of Knoxville has a new police vehicle cruising the streets. The department recently purchased a Chevy Tahoe as part of its regular vehicle rotation. Knoxville Police Chief Dan Losada tells KNIA/KRLS that the Tahoe will be especially useful for its four-wheel drive capabilities. He says that the Tahoe isn’t completely equipped yet – much of their equipment comes from the east coast and was delayed by Hurricane Sandy. Losada explains that since it has a higher center of gravity than other patrol vehicles, they’ll also have to make different rules for operating it for the department.
