Pella High head volleyball coach, Catie Brand, and her Lady Dutch team had to face Newton six days before they would square off in round one of the Class 4A regional tournament. Pella had met them earlier in the season and was swept in two sets, then faced them towards the middle of October and lost in five. Brand told KNIA/KRLS Sports that they would have liked a “W” in that season finale match, but had their sights set on the confrontation in the postseason between the two schools. The Lady Dutch would win in four sets and end their season at 19 – 17.
