Following a humbling loss on Friday to Twin Cedars, 62 – 27, Aaron Fichter and his Pleasantville Trojans girls basketball team will try to get things going in the right direction tonight as they host Eddyville-Blakesburg in their second game of the season. One big key to the game for Pleasantville will be getting their sophomore leader, Kennedy Core, some good open looks from beyond the arc. Core was 4-of-10 beyond the three-point stripe in the loss to the Sabers, and finished with 17 of her team’s 27 points, while taking the ball away five times. Eddyville-Blakesburg went 12 – 10 in the 2011-12 season, including a 57 – 45 win over Pleasantville early in the year. The Rockets lost just three seniors, and are returning seven this year with a good amount of height. Tonight’s game is in Pleasantville and tips off at 7:30 p.m.
