The big box stores may be crowded today, but tomorrow puts the spotlight on the shops that hit a little bit closer to home. Small Business Saturday is a way to help out your neighbors, friends, and community, according to Knoxville Chamber of Commerce Director Larissa Van Donselaar. She says when you shop local, you’re supporting businesses that support the community. Not only do those businesses employ people locally, but they also are likely to reinvest money back into the community. Van Donselaar notes that there are a number of activities and family events every year that are supported and made possible by local businesses.
