The Melcher-Dallas Saints have had continued success over the last two seasons. With a combined regular season record of 16 – 1 over the last two years, including a stretch of 14 wins in a row, Saints head football coach, Ryan Conrad, tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that even with a strong core of returning players to start the 2012 season, he told his group of guys to not look ahead to the UNI-Dome or even the playoffs, but to look at the next game on the schedule.
“As any coach will tell you, one game at a time,” Conrad said. “We really didn’t look any further than that. That’s part of the reason why we were so successful in the regular season in the last two years. Last two years of the regular season, we had a 16 – 1 record. You’re not able to have that kind of continued success looking past one game. We did a good job of focusing on each game, and really played well.”
Conrad’s team will lose 13 seniors at the conclusion of the school year. Interesting to note, is that his team consisted of zero juniors, so the team you will see in 2013 will be practically the same going into the 2014 season.
