Pleasantville Trojans head girls basketball coach, Aaron Fichter, was very happy with how his girls played in a loss to Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont last night by a final score of 58 – 28. Fichter said his girls played better defense, and even forced some turnovers of their own with their full-court press and half-court defense. The big setback for the Trojans was having the ball taken away from them on offense, and the Rockets capitalizing on easy lay-ups and successful transition offense. Leading the way for Pleasantville again was Kennedy Core, bucketing 16 points, while senior Maddie Harken was their top rebounder and made her way to the free throw line several times in the first half. Pleasantville now sits with an 0 – 2 record, and will have a week off to prepare for their upcoming game at Melcher-Dallas, which has been dubbed “The Hunger Game,” and to find out more information on that, tune in to the Marion County PM Sports Page tonight at 6:30 p.m.
