Following a winless start to the season after three games, Twin Cedars’ head football coach, Aaron Allspach, and his group of Sabers’ hopes weren’t high for achieving their goal of making the playoffs. Heading into their homecoming game against East Union, it was as if everything just started to “click,” according to Allspach, and was perhaps their best all-around game, the head coach told KNIA/KRLS Sports. Quarterback Brent Parker went 13 for 18 passing for 161 yards and two touchdowns and he also rushed for two scores of his own, while fellow junior, Drew Carlson, also rushed for two touchdowns while piling up 48 yards on the ground. The Sabers would win the game by a final score 50 – 20, and would then win four of their next five games to make it to the playoffs, where Twin Cedars would be met by the wall known as Murray in the first round and make a quick exit, but not without a fight. Twin Cedars finished the 2012 year with a record of 5 – 5.
