With six games under their belt, the Pella High boys’ basketball team sits at 5 – 1 with the toughest part of their schedule lying ahead. Head coach, Mark Core, said that over the course of the month of December, his guys played well but have some things to work on.
“We’re most definitely happy with the start,” Core said. “We weren’t terribly pleased with the outcome of the Dallas Center-Grimes game for obvious reasons. Not only did we not win, but more importantly, we got exposed in some areas that definitely are going to have to be addressed, have been addressed, and will continue to be worked on as time unfolds.”
Core also said that with his young team, it is a long-term process to build themselves to where they’re capable of being, but are still happy with where they sit entering the 2013 schedule. Two tough games loom on the schedule after the break for the Little Dutch basketball squad, playing at Pella Christian this Friday, then hosting an undefeated PCM boys’ team the very next day.
