Hitting the road two days after a tough loss to PCM on Thursday, the Pella Christian Eagles’ boys basketball team notched a win over Albia Saturday. The Eagles got off to a quick start and led by 13 after one quarter, and played even basketball with Albia the rest of the game. Blake Riggen was a force on offense and defense, scoring 17 points and guarding one of the fastest players on Albia’s side for a majority of the game and limiting his production. Austin Ver Meer had a near triple-double, producing 10 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists. The Eagles’ record is 4 – 1, and will have a nice break before returning to doubleheader action with the girls team, when they both make the venture to Newton this Friday, a game that will be aired on 92.1 KRLS.
