You don’t get to a 4 – 0 record by having a team full of ball hogs, and Pella High head boys’ basketball coach, Mark Core, said after the win over Oskaloosa on Friday, that his guys are finally starting to get that.
“I think they are buying into the concept of unselfishness,” Core said. “We’ve now had four games and I think we’ve had three different leading scorers, and we’ve distributed the shots pretty nicely. So we’re feeling pretty good about that.”
This season, the Little Dutch have recorded 29 assists, which is not an accurate representation of the ball movement Core’s team has shown on the court. The undefeated Pella boys are enjoying a nice break from action at the moment, and will next play this Friday evening at future Little Hawkeye Conference member, Dallas Center-Grimes.
