Back on the winning side of things, the Melcher-Dallas Saints’ basketball teams went on the road and swept Seymour in a girls/boys doubleheader Friday night. For the girls, they started the night off with a 44 – 26 win to snap their two-game losing streak. On the boys’ side, they saw that Seymour had trouble against Moravia, a team the Saints’ boys beat 84 – 29 last Friday, and they put that confidence to good use and demolished the host Warriors 89 – 19. Four starters finished with double-digit points, including Kenneth Waddle with 21, Chase and Clay Wetterling combined for 34, and Ross Dawson added ten. The Saints’ girls are 2 – 3 on the year, as the boys pull even at .500 with a 2 – 2 mark. Each team is back in action tonight at Chariton to conclude their four game road trip.
