There have been a lot of wins flying around for PCM’s basketball teams at this point in the season. The boys are 9 – 0, the girls are 5 – 5, and tonight, both teams will cap their 2012 part of the season at home with a visit from Saydel. The Eagles’ girls, who are 6 – 6 so far, most recently beat Colfax-Mingo 54 – 30. Saydel’s girls don’t have a “star” scorer, as they have five players that average at least five points per game, led by Brooklyn Allgood with a 9.2 PPG average. The Mustangs, on the other hand, just saw their three game win streak snapped with a loss to North Polk on Tuesday. PCM has a 4 – 3 Heart of Iowa Conference record while Saydel enters play at 4 – 4, and the winner will be in fifth place at the holiday break. Over on the boys’ side, Saydel has a 1 – 8 record entering play after losing their last eight games. Conference-wise, PCM is 7 – 0 while Saydel enters with a 1 – 6 Heart of Iowa mark. Tonight’s hardwood doubleheader tips off at 6:00 p.m.
