After his Pella Christian Eagles’ bowling team got off to a slow start at Knoxville a few Saturdays ago, head coach Rod Blunck told KNIA/KRLS Sports, that his kids have been focused at practice lately on improving their scores pin-by-pin. Blunck also said his team had a strong last week of practice, which showed, as his boys’ team improved from fifth to second place in Oskaloosa this past Saturday, while the girls fell back by a few pins from the Knoxville meet. The coach also said that his players have wanted to work on converting spares during practices. Blunck also said that he told his players that nobody ever averages 300, so teaching them how to convert spares is a high priority for him. The Eagles’ varsity bowling squad has an early morning ahead of them Saturday, as they’ll travel to Newton for their next meet.
