Two Knoxville High School students will spend next summer learning in detail how government operates. Ben Thomas and Brendan Finan were selected to participate in the Hawkeye Boys’ State program in June at Camp Dodge. The weeklong camp provides a “hands-on” experience in the operation of democratic form of government, the organization of political parties, and the price paid by people to preserve democracy. The program is sponsored by the American Legion of Iowa. Post No. 168 in Knoxville will pay the fee for Thomas and Finan to participate.
