The Central Dutch wrestling team is sitting pretty after the first half of their season with a 7 – 1 dual meet record and a No. 14 national rank in Division III. The only loss that the Dutch have recorded is a 16 – 15 defeat at the hands of then No. 3 Coe College. Since then, Central has recorded a first place finish out of 11 at the Milwaukee Invitational, and six straight dual meet victories, including a sweep at the Gulf Coast Duals in Florida on the 16th. Head coach and interim Athletic Director, Eric Van Kley, said his guys have been improving little-by-little each competition, and they’ll have to continue that each week if they want to make it to the national tournament. Van Kley also said he likes the attitude and effort the guys are putting out each and every day. The Dutch wrestling squad are in the middle of almost a month-long break, and will next be in action at Iowa Conference foe Loras in Dubuque on January 10.
