Farmers Should Report Farm Record Changes to FSA

A one-year extension of the Farm Bill was approved with last week’s fiscal cliff deal, allowing current legislation to stay in place until September 30, 2013. Marion County FSA Director Angie Vos said during Saturday’s Farming Today program on KNIA/KRLS that she has not received official word on what the extension will exist of. She notes this is still a good time of year to report farm record changes in ownership and operators. She says to report an ownership change, producers must submit a copy of the reported deed or contract.
