The PCM basketball teams will be making the drive to Nevada tonight for some key conference match-ups. The Mustangs’ girls are at 5 – 5 and with their lack of height, are wanting to win the battle of the boards in 2013’s games. Nevada enters at 8 – 2, and have shown very strong defense at this point in their season. They’ve only allowed two of their opponents to score more than 40 points, and the Cubs’ girls lost both of those contests. The boys’ game has “Game of the Week” written all over it. The two teams are very similar on paper. PCM is 9 – 0 while Nevada is 7 – 1, however each team is undefeated in the Heart of Iowa Conference. The Mustangs’ defense has carried them to several of their victories this year and will need another strong effort against a team that features several familiar faces, according to head coach Fred Lorensen. Tonight’s doubleheader will be streamed live at kniakrls.com with Justin Webster calling all of the action, starting with the pregame show at 5:45 p.m. and tip-off of the girls’ game at 6:00.
