The Knoxville Girls Basketball Squad fell short against Oskaloosa last night 55-33. The Indians had two spurts, one in the first quarter when Osky went on an 8-0 run to close out the first quarter and the other, a 10-2 run to put the game out of reach in the second and third quarters. The key for the Indians success was second and third chance points. Something Panthers Coach Jim Utiermarkt was not pleased with. Meredith Cunningham scored 13 points to lead Knoxville who falls to 6-8 on the season and 2-5 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. For the boys, Oskaloosa blew the game open in the second quarter by outscoring Knoxville 17-4 and win going away 54-37. The Indians continued the onslaught in the third quarter by going on an 8-2 run to lead by as many 22 by the fourth quarter. Chase Higgenbotham scored 11 points to lead Knoxville while Ryan Douglass scored ten. Knoxville drops to 0-14 on the season and 0-7 in the conference. Knoxville hosts Newton on Friday.
