The PCM girls had a tough opening eight minutes versus Colfax-Mingo Tuesday night in Monroe. The Lady Mustangs were tied at 15 at the end of the first period before going on a 26-6 tear to take a 20-point lead into the locker room and eventually record a 65-36 victory. The starting backcourt for PCM combined for 44 points, with Krisha Houseman leading all scorers with 26 and Courtney Van Houweling adding 18. The win is the sixth straight for the PCM girls who are now 11-6 on the season. The PCM boys did their best to keep pace with the PCM girls, notching their sixth straight victory with a 60-46 win over the visiting Tigerhawks. PCM looked strong early, jumping out to an 11-3 lead after one quarter, but Colfax-Mingo refused to go away and several times put pressure on the Mustang offense. Ethan Kain tallied 19 total points, while VandeWall added 14. Head Coach Fred Lorenson has been pleased lately with the rotating spotlight that his team seems to be embracing. PCM improves to 15-1, while the loss drops Colfax-Mingo to 3-13. Up next for PCM is a girls/boys double header Friday night at C-M-B.
