The PCM basketball squads each won a couple close contests last night to extend each of their current winning streaks to seven games. The boys prevailed 67 – 57, led by Alex DeWitte and Michael Neff’s 18 points, while Dillon Bruxvoort had 11. It was a nail-biter in the girls’ game; it came down to the wire, but Kelsey Townsend hit some key shots down the stretch to give her team a 51 – 49 victory. Townsend finished with a game-high 21 points, while Abbi Gilson contributed a double-double with 11 points and ten boards. PCM’s girls are now 12 – 6 on the season while the boys improved to 16 – 1, and next up is another face-off against a tough North Polk team on Tuesday.
