The Pella Public Works Department has some new equipment this winter that will help them to plow snow on brick streets. They now have a snow plow with a rubber tipped blade. the rubber tip will keep the blade from chipping the bricks, which are in high demand. The bricks used on streets are a stronger brick than usual, and are in short supply. Public Works Director Denny Buyert says that the rubber tip worn down quite a bit during the first snow, and they are looking for other options.
