Governor Branstad has appointed an Otley man to the Judicial Nominating Commission. Scott Bailey of Otley was appointed to the commision on Monday. He will serve a term that ends in April of 2014. Each Congressional District has two appointees and Bailey will be serving for District 2. The commission selects justices and judges to be appointed by the state government. Lawyers select another 8 members, aside from those appointed by the Governor, to the commission.
