In the third of six installments of Marion County rivalries this season, the Knoxville boys will once again travel a short distance to face Pella Christian on the hardwood. For Knoxville, it has been a slow process, but showed maybe their strongest output of the season against Pella on Tuesday, not going away in a 67 – 62 loss. Ryan Douglass was big off the bench for the Panthers, scoring 24 points. The Eagles have lost three of their last four games, including two straight to North Polk and Norwalk, the latter being a game that saw the Eagles’ boys score just seven points in the first half. With the slight slump to begin 2013, Coach Larry Hessing is more focused on his team improving, rather than who they are playing. Tonight’s boys game follows the girls’ contest, and will be aired live on AM 1320 KNIA, 92.1 KRLS, and streamed live at kniakrls.com.
