Pheasant Population Dwindles in Iowa

Iowa’s Pheasant Hunting season is coming to a close, and the population of pheasants was lower this year. DNR Conservation Officer Ken Kenyon says that pheasant numbers have been dwindling because a widespread destruction of their habitat. He says that in Marion County very dedicated hunters were able to find pheasants and the number of reported kills wasn’t as bad as previous years. Kenyon says they’ll have a better idea of the numbers in about a month after they talk with hunters at the close of the season.
