Trojans’ boys’ basketball earned win number 11, while the girls stumbled a bit on the road at Clarke on Monday. Pleasantville’s girls had a strong first quarter but couldn’t keep the intensity up the rest of the game. Kennedy Core had 19 points and seven steals to stand out for the Trojans, while Trisha Kunze had another double-digit performance with ten points. The Pleasantville boys, according to head coach Tom Wilkins, had their “best defensive game of the year” in a 69 – 36 rout of the Clarke Indians. Trevor Zoss led the Trojans’ attack with 19 points, while Josh Luna nailed four shots from the perimeter in a 16 point effort. With the loss, the girls fall to 1 – 15, while the boys are 11 – 3, each are back in action for their second game in as many days later this evening on the road at Martensdale-St. Mary’s.
