In a game almost three weeks in the making, Grinnell will travel to Pella to play a make-up Little Hawkeye Conference doubleheader this evening. The head-to-head match-up between the two schools was supposed to take place on December 21, but a snow storm that moved through the area made travel next to impossible. The Lady Dutch haven’t started the year off on the right foot, but have a chance to turn their season around in a very winnable game against the Tigers. Grinnell is 3 – 6 and have had their problems with shooting this season, only making about 29 percent of their shots. Pella played close to Knoxville on Tuesday, dropping the contest by three, 51 – 48, and they are trying to find the momentum they had going into the holiday break. The boys have their hands full in their game tonight against the Tigers, and Coach Mark Core said that his team, after escaping with a five point win over Knoxville Tuesday, will have to really step it up against a very well-balanced opponent. Tonight’s conference doubleheader will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live at kniakrls.com, with Cory Houser calling all of the action starting at 6:00 p.m. with the pregame, and tip-off at 6:15.
