The Pleasantville girls and boys basketball teams both lost on Friday night to the Wolverines of Nodaway Valley High. Pleasantville fell behind 7-0 early in the first quarter of the girls game and headed to the locker down only 12. A series of missed shots and great defensive rebounding by Nodaway Valley allowed the Wolverines to pull away in the second half for a final score of 58-27. Kennedy Core led the Trojans with 11 points on the night. Later in the night, a packed house at Nodaway Valley High saw the Pleasantville Trojans lose for the second time this year as they fell to the Wolverines 72-44. Pleasantville headed to the locker room at half down 47-28 and tried to erase the deficit in the third quarter but the Trojans couldn’t stop the Wolverines fast passed offense in the second half. After the game, Coach Wilkins talked about what his defense needs to do to improve throughout the season. Dylan Lauer led the Trojans with 14 points on the night as the Pleasantville boys fell to 6 and 2 on the year. Both the girls and boys teams will be in action next week as they host Central Decatur on Tuesday.
