The Twin Cedars girls’ basketball team breezed by Moulton-Udell, while the boys suffered a heartbreaking loss to the aforementioned Eagles on Friday night. The Sabers girls held the Eagles to just ten first half points while scoring 32 of their own, before finishing the job in the second half to the tune of a 53 – 28 win. Alee Hugen led with 16 points, Ayla Crosby added 11, while Brittney Roby had six assists to go with seven points. The boys, on the other hand, just couldn’t put the game away, leading 37 – 26 at the half, they were outscored 21 – 6 in the third quarter and fell by one, 54 – 53. Eric Clark led the Sabers with 13 points, Coy Moore had 12, while Derek Springer came off the bench to score 11. Twin Cedars’ girls push their record up to 10 – 2, and the boys drop to 6 – 6 on the year. The Bluegrass Conference tournament is on deck for both teams, as the girls will begin on Monday, while the boys play next on Tuesday.
