It was an easy night in Bussey for the Twin Cedars’ varsity basketball clubs Monday, as each team won by a large margin over Tri-County. The girls had a 39 – 14 lead going into halftime and won 61 – 32. The Sabers’ girls actually shot better from beyond the arc than they did at the free throw line. Ayla Crosby led the way with 15 points; Brittney Roby and Alee Hugen each punched in 14. The Sabers’ boys were up 35 – 2 after just eight minutes of play, en route to a 76 – 27 clobbering of the Trojans. Coach Alan Stewart told KNIA/KRLS Sports that his team was making the extra pass all game long and finding the open man underneath which turned into easy lay-ups. Dylan Springer had 16 points and Eric Clark dumped in 13. Twin Cedars’ girls are now 17 – 2 and are on a season-high nine-game winning streak, while the boys improve to 10 – 8, each team is back in action in the penultimate game of their seasons on Thursday at Southeast Warren.
