On Monday afternoon a collision between a school bus and a female student in the Pella Community High School parking lot was reported to the Pella Police Department. A preliminary investigation showed that the female student had fallen and was struck by the bus. She was transported to Pella Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries. Pella Schools Superintendent Greg Ebeling says that the student received one broken bone in her leg. She has had the bone set at Pella Regional Health Center and is in a cast. Ebeling says as bad as the incident was they were lucky her injuries weren’t worse. He says he is pleased with the way school staff reacted and responded to the accident.
