One game. Thirty-two minutes. That is all that separates the Pella Christian girls’ basketball team from a return trip to state. Tonight, the Eagles will go head-to-head with Woodward-Granger in Pleasantville in the Class 2A regional final. Pella Christian won 48 – 41 over North Mahaska, the defending Class 1A champions, and almost let a 17-point halftime lead get away. The Hawks beat a formidable foe in Des Moines Christian, 44 – 38 on Friday, thanks to their offense waking up in the second half. Coming into the game this evening, Coach Kevin Van Maanen says that his game plan will be to simply not change a thing. Lauren Jungling returned against the Warhawks and played a few quality minutes. Van Maanen mentioned that he’s letting Jungling find her rhythm again after being out the past few weeks. Tonight’s big game will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS and streamed live on kniakrls.com with Cory Houser and Wynne Veenstra calling the action. Pregame coverage starts at 6:30 p.m. with tip-off at 7:00.
