Father and Son Escape Residential Fire

At around 2:30 this morning, the Pella Fire Department responded to the scene of a residential house fire at 118 E. 9th St in Pella. A father and a son escaped the home, the father was forced to crawl out of the window of the single story building after feeling the door and finding it was hot. No flames were visible from outside of the home but smoke could be seen coming from the windows. The fire department cleared the scene around 4:30 am. The father and son were transported to Pella Regional Health Center with non-life threatening injuries.
According to Marion County Courthouse records, the deed to the home is held by Dwaine Bauman.
The Pella Ambulance, Marion County Sheriff’s Office and Pella Police Department also responded to the scene.
