The Knoxville Boys Basketball Squad fell to Dallas Center-Grimes 70-44 last night. The Panthers and Mustangs played relatively close for the first 14 minutes of the game with the Panthers getting to within four at one point. But, D-C-G closed the first half on an 8-3 flurry, then blew the game open with a 10-2 start in the third quarter to grab a 20 point lead with 4:57 remaining in the third. The lead would get as high as 26 which was the final margin. Knoxville Coach Jeff Larson said he liked the effort from his team, but 29 Panther turnovers and defensive break downs caused problems. Gerrit Davis led Knoxville with eight points. The Panthers will now set their sights on Centerville next Monday and the class 3A district.
