Pella Resident Roger Shalin was arrested last week for charges of possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts, criminal mischief and assault on a peace officer. The incident occurred during an investigation into reports of found drug paraphernalia being conducted by members of the M.I.N.E. Taskforce. Officers approached Shalin in a right of way near his home. Shalin allegedly fled from the officers and after caught and handcuffed, he kicked at the legs and knees of one officer. Shalin has plead not guilty and will have a pre-trial conference on Tuesday.
