Making the regional final for the first time in school history, the Twin Cedars’ girls’ basketball team fell just short of their first trip to state, losing to Earlham this past Monday, 79 – 55. When asked in an interview to be heard on today’s Hy-Vee Radio Coaches Corner on KNIA/KRLS, Sabers’ coach, Justin Nolte said that there were times his girls maybe could have played better, but overall, it was just a matter of Earlham being the better team. Nolte also said that his team has a lot to be proud of. In addition to reaching the regional final for the first time in program history, his girls set a new school record for wins in a season with 21 and won another Bluegrass Conference tournament and title. They ended the year with a 21 – 4 record.
