It was a closer game than their season-opener, but unfortunately for the Melcher-Dallas girls’ basketball squad, it was the same result, as Wayne ousted the Saints from the Class 1A regional tournament on Thursday, 55 – 33. Saints’ head coach, Jon Suntken, told KNIA/KRLS Sports that his girls broke the Falcons’ press and played perhaps their best game of basketball all season. Suntken also said that junior Maddie Rowland had a fantastic all-around game, and his team has progressed so much from their first game against Wayne all the way to their season finale against the same team. Melcher-Dallas’ girls finish the year with a 6 – 16 record.
