The Pella High boys’ basketball team notched a tough road win over Bondurant-Farrar, 82-71 in a Class 3A first round shootout Monday night. The Little Dutch struggled with turnovers in the first 16 minutes of play which kept the contest close; the game was tied at 27 at the half. Leading all scorers with 26 points was Pella’s Jordan Pingel, who went 14-for-14 from the foul line. As a team, Pella shot 52 percent for the ballgame, and 76 percent from the charity stripe. Next up for the Little Dutch is a trip Thursday to Southeast Polk to face off against Little Hawkeye Conference foe Grinnell in the second round of the Class 3A tournament. Thursday’s district final will be aired live on 92.1 KRLS.
