Losing several seniors last year, Lady Dutch head basketball coach, Jerod Garland, was looking for girls, mainly his seniors, to step up and fill roles that had been vacated because of graduation. Garland said that his senior ball-handler, Allie DeMeulenaere, after an admittedly slow start, improved greatly in the middle two months of the schedule and became a key component to their team. Garland said that DeMeuelenaere specialized in breaking out of back court presses to get her team out of trouble, and she also used her leadership to help propel her team to upset wins of Oskaloosa and Washington during the regular season. The Lady Dutch finished the year at 9 – 13.
