Averaging around ten points per game in her freshman year for the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team, sophomore Kennedy Core had another breakout season in 2012-13. Core averaged just under 20 points per contest, shot better than 40 percent from three-point range, and averaged around four steals per game. Head coach for the Trojans, Aaron Fichter, said that yes, Core had a great season offensively, but she really upped her game on the defensive end. Fichter also said she was more aggressive when she had the ball, getting to the line over 100 more times than she did in her first season, and she was more efficient from long distance. In just her sophomore year, the young Trojan also broke school records for three pointers made in a career with 102, and steals in a season with 91.
