It’s every high school athlete’s dream: making it to the state tournament. Tonight, the Pleasantville girls’ basketball team has a chance to take a giant step towards Des Moines when they travel to Martensdale-St. Mary’s in the first round of the regional tournament. The Trojans enter the playoffs with a 1 – 21 regular season record and lost both Pride of Iowa Conference meet-ups with the Blue Devils, who were able to limit the production of Pleasantville’s offensive juggernaut, Kennedy Core. Pleasantville also only attempted 15 free throws combined in those two contests. The Blue Devils enter play at 12 – 9 overall and are coming off a nice win over I-35 on Tuesday. You can catch tonight’s first round playoff match-up between the two teams on AM 1320 KNIA and streamed live at KNIAKRLS.com with Kris Krug and Ed Bull on the call. Pregame coverage starts at 6:45 p.m. with tip-off at 7:00.
