Numbers have nearly doubled for the Knoxville Girls Track and Field Squad this season. Last season Coach Jeremy Van Engen was greeted with just 16 girls. With that number depth was an issue and in many meets, there were events that he could not fill. This season Van Engen has 30 girls on the squad and he says one reason is the way the girls went out and requited school-mates to come out for the track season. He says he can talk all he wants, but he feels the best way to get kids to come out for a sport, is have the kids themselves do the leg work. Knoxville’s indoor season will continue next Saturday at the Central College Indoor Invitational.
