Candidates for the open Police Officer position at the Pella Police Department were in town testing for the job on Friday. The testing began with a flexibility, sit-up, and push up test at the Police Department. The candidates then went to Central’s Field House for a timed 1.5 mile run. The candidates also faced a written test, and interviews with current staff. Selected applicants will face a few more tests on the state level, and a final interview with the Chief of Police, Robert Bokinsky. Bokinsky says they would like to have the new officer on the streets by Tulip Time.
