Both the Central men’s and women’s basketball teams had players that were nominated to the All-Iowa Conference team announced this week. Senior Jacob Winkler was recognized for the second straight year, making it to the first team after averaging just under 15 points per game which was third in the league, and was fourth in field goal percentage this season, making 56.5 percent of his shots. Junior Branden Stubbs was nominated to the second team after leading the league in assists per game with an average of just 5.5. Junior Matt Greenfield also received an honorable mention. The Dutch women had a couple players receive honorable mentions, including senior Nicole Strasko, who grabbed about seven boards per game, good enough for sixth in the league. The other was guard Kenzie Vander Molen, who averaged seven rebounds per game and started a good amount of games down the stretch for the Central Dutch. The men finished the year at 10 – 14, while the women were 10 – 15, their best season since 2003-04.
