The Central Softball team was able to salvage a split in their two games Friday morning thanks to a big inning in the nightcap. The Dutch dropped their opening season contest to East Texas Baptist in nine innings, 3 – 2, because of an unearned run crossing the plate, allowing East Texas Baptist to walk off a winner. Things were looking grim in their second game against Ohio Northern, as the Dutch women were down 3 -0 in the fifth, but three singles and a hit-by-pitch pushed across a pair of runs to get the rally started. Another RBI single by Annie Sarcone and a run-scoring double by third baseman, Whitney Sowers gave her team the lead for good. Central is 1 – 1 to start the year and will have a game this morning against Piedmont at 10:00 a.m.
