With another big number of kids going out for track this year, Pella High head boys’ track coach, Brent Van Hauen has the unenviable task of shuffling kids around so they all get their fair shake over the course of the season. Van Hauen has 18 seniors back this season after losing 12 off of last year’s squad, and the head coach said that with the amount of talent he has returning, there are both positives and negatives to take away from the sheer depth for his Little Dutch athletes in 2013. Van Hauen added that the depth definitely helps the team overall stay healthy and still stay competitive during meets. Their first taste of some action this season will take place indoors at Grinnell College this coming Friday afternoon, when they participate in an indoor conference meet at 4:15 p.m.
