The final score may not have indicated it, but after a 66 – 49 triumph over Burlington – Notre Dame in the substate, the Pella Christian boys’ basketball team will have a few things to fine tune in the coming days leading up to their opening round state tournament playoff game on Tuesday against Sheldon. Head coach, Larry Hessing noted after the contest that their opponents will get to see the tape on them of how they handled the Nikes’ zone defense, and that his team will be working on getting better at every aspect of the game. Sheldon comes into the game with only three losses on the season; two of them to Boyden-Hull, who will also be playing basketball next week in the state tournament. The Class 2A opening round match tips off at 12:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
